Necron System Error

Like all good glue fiends, I picked up the new Necron codex this weekend.  In short, my hobby plans for the next few months will not be interrupted...

Fiction for the Kabal

I think that writing a short background story for an army, is a great way to address an often dismissed dimension to a hobby project.

Dais of Destruction WIP

Building a model that does not exist in the GW range can be tricky.  Building a converted version of such a non-existent model can be even trickier.  Let me show you what I have so far...

Just Say "Yes" to Combat Drugs

DIY combat drug injectors can be as complicated or as simple as possible.  Naturally, I made mine complicated.

Putty in Progress: A Visual Tour

In response to requests for a more informative walk-through of my putty process, here are a variety of photos to help further explain what I am up to with my Skaven/Dark Eldar at the moment.

A Keeper of "Shocking" Secrets

Around this time last year, I was snowed-in for a long weekend.  After fighting with my snow-blower for a few hours, I tried to warm up at my work bench with a bottle of whiskey; this Greater Daemon of Slaanesh was the result.

Metal Bloodcrushers and Conversions: How to spend two weeks on eight models.

With last summer's release of the plastic Bloodcrusher kit, I found several weeks of my work to be invalidated.  Months before the second wave of Chaos Daemons, I spent quite a while repositioning all eight of my own metal Bloodcrushers.  While I am happy with my work, I don't think I would have made this effort had I known plastic models were just around the corner...

Quick and Easy Vraksian Psyker Battle Squad

I wanted at least one Psyker Battle squad in my Vraksian IG collection, and had one obvious conversion idea.  While still a work in painting-progress, today I thought I would share my current desktop project with you.

Creatinge a Narrative Conversion

When I was building my Daemon army, I naturally wanted three Soul Grinders.  Permanently inclined to do everything in the most difficult way possible, the GW models did not appeal to me.  I had to devise my own representations.  Could I make a daemonic machine that did not just look like a pile of skulls and putty, but almost appeared to have a purpose?  Can a model tell a story?

Addicted to Fluff

I recently created an army book to go along with my collection of renegade imperial guard.  The cover photo above was taken by my girlfriend with a basic digital camera, in our dining room.  No, not as professional as the high res shoot my friend did, but it made for a pretty cinematic cover.  Back to the book:  Tonight I thought I would post the fluff piece I wrote for the army book.  The more you know about the Siege of Vraks books, the more the details will make sense; but I would like to hear your opinions either way.  Please go easy on me, I don't write too frequently.
