Another brick in the base, part II

While I have finally finished painting all of the models in my Kabal of the Fursaken, I am currently hard at work on the bases for the collection.

Hobby Update

Hey all.  Been a while since I have updated the blog, but honestly, I have been holding out for the completion of my current project.

Assembly-Line Painting

Finalizing the color scheme to the Kabal of the Fursaken recently took an odd turn.  While the colors and treatments have all been selected at this point, I found myself spending an inordinate amount of time planning an army-wide assembly-line plan of attack.

The Goatboy Strikes Back

The oft-maligned Goatboy, of Space Goat fame, has just completed the graphic for the Sabol miniature case that I am assigning to my Kabal of the Fursaken.  Pretty sweet, eh?

Locking-down a color scheme is not always easy, but luckily I have a test-market known as "the internets".

Time to get out my paints.

This weekend I finished building the last model for my Skaven / Dark Eldar army project, and spent Monday afternoon priming everything.  My glue, pin vices and exacto blades are returning to their storage shelves, and my paints are returning to the desk.

After receiving the 0.022" drill bits in the mail from my father, my "blast pistols" look a bit more functional.

Skaven Reaver Jetbikes WIP

Converting Deffkoptas into Skaven-mounted Jetbikes for my "Kabal of the Fursaken" has been painful, and full of fumes.

Adrubael Queek: The Bane of Splinter

Creating a Skaven based Asdrubael Vect was not very hard.  Perhaps because GW has yet to produce one of their own, so there were no limitations...  And no, a model stuck in a vehicle doesn't count.  =P

Hekatrix Prototype: Agonizer and Blast Pistol WIP

This weekend I began working on my Skaven Hekatrix squad leaders.  While I am happy with my "Agonizer", I had to request assistance with my "Blast Pistol" experiments...

45 Clanrat Wych conversions have been finished this month, and I am on-target for completing my "Kabal  of the Fursaken" by NOVA.  Self pat-on-the-back!

Hidden Hobby Costs: The Psychological Price of Model Transportation

I could never check one of my army collections with an airline.  I would be angry to lose some favorite clothing, but the thousands of hours poured into an army?  That would be unthinkable!

Prototype Skaven Wych

This weekend, I broke from my "assembly line" of 45 Skaven Wyches, and finished one completely.  I hope you like my take on combat drugs and splinter pistols, Rat style.
